St Donatus Church

In Zadar we finally arrived around 5:00 pm and after we parked in front of the city walls we got to visit the city. It has an impressive center with the octagonal church of St Donatus dating from the 8th century. It is part of the large Roman Forum complex that represent the heart of the city. Close by is St Anastasius Cathedral from its tower you get a beautiful view over the city. But the most beautiful part of the city is the new promenade by the sea. At its end is the inspiring work of art sea organ where water from the sea driven by waves enters under the promenade through pipes creating beautiful sounds. People lie on top and listen mesmerized. After we got a room in a nice apartment and have dinner we returned to the sea organ, the best place to enjoy the evening in Zadar.
