Hvar, Croatia

View from the fort over Hvar Town

In the evening we tried to figure out if we can get on a day cruise to several islands. However it turned out that you could but the islands they were offering were not the ones we were interested in. Both the islands of Vis and Korcula were far and the closest island we were interested in was Hvar. In the morning we went directly to the harbor and bought RT tickets to Hvar for about $16, a 2 hour boat ride from Split.
There are three cities on the island and the boat drops you in Starigrad. From there you take a bus and in 20 minutes you get in Hvar Town, the main town of the island. Hvar Town is a charming place that is also a main hang out for the young. Beside the richness in architectural buildings and the beauty of the harbor, in the night the bars and clubs open their doors for the ones who want to see and be seen. For this, Hvar is the place to be in Croatia.
