I drove out from Kanab, UT on the road towards Bryce Canyon to go to Kodachrome Basin State Park. Right before you reach Bryce you pass through Red Canyon, an enchanting collection of red spires glowing in the sun.

Kodachrome Basin State Park got its name when years ago National Geographic came to shoot with a new type of film at the time, Kodakchrome. The park is small but it has an interesting collection of tall spires and slickrock that can be admired from short hikes around. Besides it has a delicate arch caring the name of the English bard, Shakespeare’s Arch
