The confluence of Lehigh and Delaware Rivers, was known by the local native population as Lechawitauk, or the “Place of the Fork”. Easton was founded at this location in 1752 and became a major economic center, looking and feeling like many past industrial towns from the East Coast rivers.


Lafayette College, Easton, PA

Its prosperity brought the foundation of Lafayette College in 1832 that added a cultural component to the city, augmenting its character even today in the post industrial times.
