Bear Mountain Bridge seen from Anthony’s Nose

The fall and its colors work like a magnet for Hudson Valley. We climbed on the eastern shore Anthony’s Nose, a mountain right in front of the Bear Mountain Bridge whose steel cables are anchored into its granite. Its peak was packed with hikers who spent their midday there, some bringing even wine glasses for a spectacular lunch on top of the river and the bridge. The bridge built in 1924 was the first car passage across the river between New York and Albany.
