It’s hard to describe the enthusiasm of this event that happened in NYC for the second time. Organized by B&H Photo and Lindblad Expeditions and sponsored by all camera manufacturers the “Travel, Outdoor and Wildlife Photography Conference” is a real treat for all passionate travelers and photographers. The four days of talks hosted at the New Yorker Hotel were attended by all luminaries in travel photography, most of them from National Geographic or Lindblad, who came on stage for one hour each to share their experience.
Augmented with their breathtaking portfolio of images entwined with their exuberance for the “click” they peppered the talk with advice of how to proceed to click the shutter better. From lions and elephants, to tribes in various places, to dances in Bhutan or on the streets of Havana, to balloons in Burma or temples in Vietnam and the penguins of Antarctica or amazing art photography for both days the presentations were like traveling all over again, seeing the same locations I shot in the world through somebody else eyes. The entire event is live streamed and recorded and can be played again here: Day1 or Day 2.
Outside of the two main conference halls the booth hosted by Canon, Nikon, Sony or Fuji, to name just some big ones, offer the support and all the experience you would like from their reps who go out of their way to present you with the best piece of equipment. In between, raffles and photo contests make the event for sure one of a kind, the best possible in its field.
Just to wrap a fabulous day of immersive experiences a cruise line was waiting at 42nd street ferry boat terminal for a sunset boat tour around Manhattan. And the like-in-a-dream day was ending in an amazing night on the Hudson surrounded by the same legendary photographers who shoot together with you on the boat the amazing sunset reds over the Statue of Liberty.
Thank you, B&H; Thank you, LIndblad….
